Ali Bey was born In Detroit, Michigan, on August 1, 1970. He began playing bass guitar at age eleven. His musical development was strongly influenced by his father,    Robert Lee Andrews.
Ali grew up listening to all types of music: Gospel, Classical, Jazz, R&B, and Rock. He developed a special love for Traditional Jazz and Jazz Fusion. He has been influenced by Jazz greats such as Harold McKinney, Marcus Belgrave, Donald Walden, and Herbert Nicholson. This gave Ali the fundamental tools preparing him for the entertainment industry.
As an accomplished bassist, arranger and composer, Ali's  debut project is titled "My Finest Hour".
